Our son/brother/grandson, Luke, was 14 when he was diagnosed with Leukaemia in April last year. The impact this has had on our family is indescribable, our world fell apart. The medical treatment Luke has received from day one has been world-class, the care shown by the NHS staff has been remarkable. We have also been supported by numerous charities, including TCCL, who have blown us away with their kindness, support and practical help. In August this year we were lucky enough to stay in the beautiful TCCL lodge. This was the first break away we had had since Luke's diagnosis. A few days away, relaxing and enjoying the company of our extended family gave us all a boost which will help us through the next few challenging months. In November Luke's granny, Emily and her sister Jill ( both very sprightly OAP's! ) are travelling to the Himalayas to tackle the Annapurna and Poon Hill trek in Nepal and would like to raise some money to support TCCL. They are both exceptionally fit but this is a gruelling trek at altitude and they will need to mirror the grit, determination and resilience that Luke has shown throughout his treatment to complete it. If you can, please sponsor Emily & Jill to raise some money for this fantastic charity.
